As part of ESPN Classic’s Top 25 Countdown, several UK and U of L classic football games will air. It’s a 50-hour football marathon, but it also might dredge up some bad memories for local fans. A look at the games involving U of L and UK and the broadcast times:
Tuesday, August 28, 6-8 p.m. — 1999 Humanitarian Bowl, U of L vs. Boise State (Cards lost 34-31 on the blue turf in Chris Redman’s last game)
Wednesday, August 29, midnight — 2003 Arkansas at Kentucky (The Razorbacks won in 7 overtimes)
Wednesday, August 29, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. — 2006 U of L at Rutgers (Scarlet Knights stop U of L’s bid for an unbeaten season)
Wednesday, August 29, 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. — 2004 Liberty Bowl, U of L vs. Boise State (Stefan LeFors leads Cards to the win)
Thursday, August 30, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. — 2005 U of L at West Virginia (Mountaineers come back to beat Cards in overtime, features the infamous botched onside kick call).
