I’ve given the Cards a bit of a hard time about running so many screens, and it must be said, some of that is hyperbole.
But it also must be said — the screens and flares have been among the Cards’ most effective passing plays this season, and if U of L weren’t running them, we’d all be asking why.
Brohm finally got room to throw down field and hit Harry Douglas for a 23-yard completion downfield on the first play of the second quarter, then was sacked on a play in which four receivers all appeared to be running straight fly routes.
