WVU: Sack and score

West Virginia goes up 31-14 when on 3rd and 7, the Mountaineers bring a blitz and John Holmes crashes unblocked into Brian Brohm, forcing a fumble that is picked up by Eric Wicks, who returns it 44 yards for a touchdown.

You’ll remember Eric Wicks, perhaps. He’s the guy who stopped Brohm short of the goal-line to seal WVU’s triple-overtime win here two years ago.

It gets much tougher for U of L now. Look for many more blitzes.

U of L’s offensive line simply hasn’t gotten it done in many instances tonight. Brohm has been rushed, had a pass batted down and been sacked four times.

WVU’s defensive line has pretty much had its way up front all night, even when U of L has been moving the ball.
