Bilal Powell

True freshman Bilal Powell returns a kickoff 40 yards — one of the best returns of the year.

Why the kid is not playing more is a mystery. To have burned his redshirt for some special teams plays is one of the more puzzling moves of the season.

But, you know, who needs an explosive running back when you’ve gained two yards on your first three carries?

  1. I just don’t get it Eric, there hasn’t been any evolution of the offense through the season… We keep making the same old mistakes. Urrutia is not a possession receiver, you can throw slants to him all game, but he’s not going to make anything of them. Same thing with Powell…Which brings me to: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”Kragthorpe has shown absolutely NO WILLINGNESS to change his scheme relative to the players he ACTUALLY HAS, rather preferring to execute the scheme, with no regard for who he has in what spots, and their relative strengths and weaknesses…I hope he goes to SMU, anything is better than this humiliation week in and week out…
