Did I mention that the U of L basketball team made 22 threes today?
Well, you have to say this for the U of L defense — it is terribly depleted. I’m not sure that’s much excuse for giving up 66 yards on South Florida’s first two runs from scrimmage. It’s not exactly Darren McFadden the Cards are trying to stop.
But the burden in this game is on the offense. Everybody knew the defense was going to be weak. The offense needed to answer that opening score.
It wasn’t promising that on a big third-down play, U of L ran a play it has run in that situation all season. While that crossing route is a good play and there’s nothing wrong with it, it doesn’t show that the offense has brought anything special for this USF defense.
