Attendance down, UK still on top

There’s been some concern about a pretty noticeable drop in UK men’s basketball attendance, but a check of the NCAA numbers so far this season show that the Wildcats are still drawing the largest crowds in the nation — during a time when attendance is typically off because of weaker opponents coming in.

Interestingly, the three attendance leaders for these least-attended games of the season are in a triangle from Lexington to Louisville to Knoxville.

A very early top five:

1. Kentucky 20,438
2. Louisville 19,134
3. Tennessee 18,859
4. North Carolina 18,644
5. Syracuse 18,624
