Florida vs. Oklahoma — it's going to happen

The BCS guru has spoken, and he says that Florida’s 73-point edge in the USA Today Coaches’ poll should be an insurmountable lead, even though Texas will finish ahead of the Gators in most computer rankings.

This sets up a fantastic BCS title game matchup in Miami, probably enough to make people forget that Texas beat Oklahoma by 10 on a neutral field and, by all rights, should be in the game.

But this is where we are, and it’s hard to dispute that Florida and Oklahoma are the hottest and most exciting teams in college football right now.

More to come here later, and in The Monday Morning Quarterback column tomorrow.

The BCS Guru’s projections for the other BCS bowls:

Fiesta: Texas-Ohio State

Sugar: Alabama-Utah

Rose: USC-Penn State

Orange: Cincinnati vs. Virginia Tech

  1. If those projections are correct the Big Ten should get ready for another joke of a bowl season. I’ll give you Penn State and Ohio State plus 25 a piece and will be happy.
