Bill Miller, named U of L’s defensive coordinator after the departure of Ron English for Eastern Michigan’s head coaching job, has now resigned himself to become co-defensive coordinator at the University of Kansas, U of L announced today.
Miller was linebackers coach at U of L last season.
“The timing of this opportunity is very unfortunate,” Miller said. “But it’s an opportunity for me to be closer to my 85-year-old father and my brother. I truly appreciate the opportunity Steve Kragthorpe gave me at Louisville, and am grateful for the treatment that Tom Jurich and Steve also gave me while I was here. I don’t expect many people to understand my decision, but this is something I had to do for my family.”
Kragthorpe said he would name a new defensive coordinator next week.
