I wonder if all the reporters at Rick Pitino’s press conferences realize that our cameras are running live while they’re making small talk before the news conference?
Speaking of video. To the right of this blog is a small screen that runs an ad for the webcast Rick Bozich and I do every week.
Every so often, in a loop, Rick and I will pop up and do a 10-second promo for the webcast. But if you’re not ready for it, it can scare the heck out of you!
I know when I hear Bozich’s voice say the words, “Listen up,” I snap to attention, papers go flying, laptop goes tumbling to the floor. And if you’re unlucky enough to have both blogs running at once (as well you should, at all times!) you might get a kind of frightening echo effect that haunts you in your sleep.
Not me, I mean, I’m not scared of it. Honest.
Anyway, a tip that the home office might not like, but is worth doing. There’s a power button at the lower left of the little screen, a semicircle with a vertical line in it. Clock on that, and we won’t scare you while you’re reading.
Just promise to watch the webcast every Thursday at 11 a.m. And send plenty of questions.
I’m fishing around for a name for the webcast. I thought “CSI: Louisville” had a nice ring to it. Columnist Sports Inquiries. Turns out there are some thorny copyright issues.
We’re taking suggestions for that, too. Note: “Two Idiots and a Camera” has already been submitted.
