UK-Ole Miss: Live chat from Tampa

It’s a new season at the St. Pete Times Forum, site of the SEC Tournament. We’ll find out in about a half-hour whether we see a new Kentucky, or the same one that has lost four straight games.

The situation, actually, seems to set up well for the Cats. Ole Miss, which has been ravaged by injury this season, may have suffered another big one. David Huertas, the team’s leading scorer, is questionable for the game with a bone bruise in his foot, and isn’t listed on the starting lineup.

We will see the same starting lineup for UK: Ramon Harris, Michael Porter, Jodie Meeks, Perry Stevenson and Patrick Patterson.

Patterson told reporters in Tampa on Wednesday that he will be back at UK next season.

The question right now, however, is how many of his teammates will show up today.

Earlier this week, I picked Ole Miss to win this game. But given the injury to Huertas, I’m changing that call. This is a game UK will win. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Wildcats get back on track a little bit today. Whether it’s enough to advance past tomorrow, we’ll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, UK beat writer Brett Dawson and I will be live blogging from courtside during the game. So make sure your boss isn’t watching, and join the discussion.
