Everybody has been reporting it all afternoon, but tonight we’re getting the last pieces of the puzzle sliding into place for Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong to be named the next University of Louisville football coach tomorrow afternoon.
U of L athletic director Tom Jurich told The Courier-Journal’s C.L. Brown tonight that he will fly to Gainesville tomorrow to bring Strong back with him. Read the whole story here.
It would appear then, that it’s all over but the signing. In my column tomorrow, I say that Jurich made the best hire he could make of the available candidates, the one who will be met with the most widespread support among the U of L fan base, and the one who brings the most-needed practical attributes for the program at this time.
Read below my, “Charlie Strong File,” for a look at the coach’s background, and check out my column in the morning for more.
