More Olympics and ratings (local)

Heard from WAVE 3 research director Rhonda Dockery this morning with a few more Olympics numbers.

She says Louisville is pacing 21 percent higher than for the Torino Olympics in primetime.

Wednesday night head-to-head, the Olympics reached 118,000 households, while American Idol reached 93,000. WAVE’s peak viewership was at 10 p.m., when it reached 132,000 households.

Thursday night’s men’s figure skating and Shawn White’s gold helped WAVE to its highest prime time ratings of the Olympics yet, an average of 113,000 households from 8 p.m. to midnight, 41 percent higher than the first Thursday of the Olympics four years ago.
